Wastewater Reuse Technology
WRPC has been engaged in the development of technologies for reclaiming
wastewater to be utilized for industrial or miscellaneous uses.
First is the reuse technology of "building" wastewater. This involves
treating the wastewater for utilization in flush toilets, irrigation,
etc. and is promoted mainly in the Tokyo Metropolis, and Fukuoka
City, etc. |

Second is an organic treatment and membrane separation. In this
system, sludge generation can be reduced and methane gas can be
recovered. In addition, the facility can be constructed in a compact
space. This development has been implemented as a national project
of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry. WRPC is now
promoting the results.
Further, WRPC was been entrusted by New Energy and Industrial Technology Development
Organization to develop a "Methane Production System from Municipal
Solid Waste". This technology is quite new. It treats waste and
wastewater in order to recover energy, protect the environment,
and effectively utilize water.
